The Gospel of the Grace of God

Acts 20:24 But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the Gospel of the grace of God.

If you had to share your faith in Jesus in one sentence, what would you say? Paul summarized it in a few words in Acts 20:24 when he looked back on his own life. He wanted to live with joy for the ministry he had received to bear witness to the Gospel of God’s grace. Sometimes you may hear the term “Grace Gospel”. Now you know where it comes from. Gospel means good news. The good news is that God has shown His grace to the world through Jesus. You may sometimes think that God is angry with you and unhappy with your performance. The great thing is that God’s focus is on His grace and not on your achievements. So that is not a focus on your own works, but a focus on His works. There is nothing more beautiful to discover God’s love for you. This will make you such a different person. Knowing that you are loved by God gives you such a different view of who God is; it shows you who you can be and how you can look at yourself. The greatest act of love was that God sent His Son Jesus to earth. He was not aiming to judge you, NO! His goal was to save you! When you come to believe this good news, the focus will be on what Jesus has done for you personally and not what you should do. You will also no longer be busy thinking about your weaknesses and shortcomings, but rather enjoy His grace, the love that you did not deserve but have received freely.
